AUTHOR BOOK TRAILERS

Maine Authors Publishing has partnered with Dean Gyorgy of Dean Gyorgy Media Arts to produce book trailers for authors.
What is a book trailer? It is simply a video put together to promote your book. It is similar to a movie trailer that allows people to view a clip and get an idea of what your book is all about. They typically run from one to four minutes.
We currently offer three options for these trailers.
Option #1 “The Introduction”
Maine Authors Publishing will hold quarterly “production days” whereby a group of authors (minimum four) will sit consecutively for a brief video interview in a studio-type set up in our offices in Rockland. The resulting one-minute trailer will feature the author’s best sound bite describing the genre, plot, motivation and/or reading from their work, as well as a handful of images and essential titling.
Features:
- 10-15 minute interview with our producer, Dean Gyorgy
- 5-7 .jpg images (including cover), provided via email
- Shot with two cameras, providing cutaway angles and visual variety
- Studio or suitable set backdrop
- Music bed
- Essential titles
- Approximately one minute finished length
Option#2 “The Book/Author Profile”
Producer, Dean Gyorgy will travel onsite to the author’s home or setting of the author’s choice (within 60 miles of Rockland at no extra charge) for and extended interview, environmental video portraits, and a “tour” of the author’s workspace, hometown or other inspirational place. The longer trailer conveys ore extensive biographical information, a sense of place, and provides the opportunity to portray the author in a more relaxed atmosphere. The trailer might also feature extended reading from the work, or a second interview with a collaborator/partner.
Features:
- 90 minutes onside with our producer, Dean Gyorgy
- Onsite scanning of archival materials (letters, historical photos, etc.)
- 7-12 .jpg images (including cover), provided via email
- Shot with two cameras, providing cutaway angles and visual variety
- Music bed
- More elaborate graphics
- Approximately two minutes finished length
Option #3 “The Dramatic Treatment”
A full-scale, dramatic interpretation of the work, featuring creative collaboration with the authors to achieve a collective vision. The final form and tone depends greatly upon the subject matter, but may well include several location shoots, actors and props and full post-production services. The resulting Trailer will be suitable for submission to various short-film festivals.
Features:
- Location shoots
- Script and storyboard
- Actors, costumes, props
- Full post-production (e.g. sound effects, music selection, titles, and end credits)
- Approximately 2-4 minutes length
If you are interested in having a book trailer, we would be happy to talk with you further.
